Two roads.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I,

I, took the one less travelled by.

It’s a line from my favourite poem, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. Just like every other kid with NCERT, I read it in my 9th std but unlike every other kid, I felt something and I knew, it would never be just a school poem for me. I love reading and writing poems, mainly kavitayen and honestly, I think I got it from my mom. She used to write a lot of poems during her young years and it’s been more than 30 years and still has her diary. So just like her, I love poems, mostly because they hold a meaning beyond what people can see. It’s an art of how words can be so simple and yet beautiful.

I write, not a lot but a year back, I recited one of my favorite poems in front of a crowd, yayy, I mean that’s an achievement, right? For me, writing is a hobby, it’s one of the few ways for me to express myself when a feeling hits me. I write when I feel low, I write when I feel confused and I write when I feel an urge to.

To write these blogs for myself was an easy task, I knew what I wanted to show the world and I knew I could do it very well.

Also, except that one time, I have never let people read my poetries but The Yellow Outline is all about being bold so here is one of my favourite pieces. I wrote this when I was feeling determined in life to achieve a goal, which I eventually did but at the same time I was feeling a little alone on my path. I hope you give it a read and I hope you like it! Thanks in advance.

Nange Paon bas chal padi hu raah par,

Kabhi patthar toh kabhi ret hai yaha par,

Aage peeche log nahi h,

Jo saath the vo ab aur kahi h.

Un sab ki soch alag hai,

Buri ya aachi ye toh bas maalik ko khabar hai

Pasand, na pasand toh door ki baatein hai,

Khayal milne toh fir toh guzri yu raatein hai.

Khud ko khojne nikli hu

Is raah par kuch khwaab batorne nikli hu

Rukna nahi h, kathinaayein bahut hai

Yaha log nahi h, par khud k apne sapne bahut hai.

-Love, Garima
